KITTITAS COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> STAFF REPORT FOR <br /> BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> Public Health Office <br /> BOARD OF HEALTH DATE: 6/16/25 <br /> TOPIC: Financial Update from the Washington State Department of Health <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: No Action—Information Only <br /> LEAD STAFF: <br /> Dr.Natalie Wilhelm,Regional Medical Officer, Guest from Washington State Department of <br /> Health(DOH) <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> No action recommended at this time. <br /> BRIEFING SUMMARY: <br /> Dr. Wilhelm will provide a brief overview of how DOH is being impacted by current state and <br /> proposed federal budget reductions and cuts. The presentation will include how her own position <br /> as KCPHD's Regional Medical Officer,has been eliminated. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> DOH is KCPHD's primary partner in the statewide public health system. We receive both federal <br /> pass through and state funded revenue and grants,in addition to technical assistance,program <br /> guidance,rule and policy implementation,and other forms of support.
