Response 3: Describe how you wilt promote your evenUactivity/facility to attract tourists. *
By targeting our marketing to the SeattlelTacoma, Portland, Oregon, and Eastern Washington areas, we will reach a market that
is already predisposed to driving for more than 50 miles or slaying overnight. Approximately 2A% of our current visiiors have
identified themselves through our register book, which often represent one person for several individuals (as we have many
units of family or friends visit). These individuals are seeking either a day or overnight experience in and around Ellensburg and
Kittiias County.
Our evening lecture series, Historic Pub Crawl, and other activities already draw many individuals from the 50+ miles
demographic, visiting for the event and then returning home or staying overnight depending on specific inierest. We cunently
have had a response of individuals attending from the Yorba Linda (CA), Poriland (OR), Auburn, Snohomish, Chattaroy,
Stehekin, & Moses Lake areas beyond those from Kittitas County. ln most cases, most had heard about the pub crawl, lectures,
or special activities fiom online markeling and promotion.
We anticipate with more lectures, pub crawls, and activiiies we will have more guests from the 50+ mile distance. One of the
preseniers in the 2025 lecture series is known to draw attendees from the Tri-Cities, Northeast Oregon, and Spokane, and while
the others are not yet confirmed, we anticipate similar crowds from them. Our pub crawl has drawn guests from California to
Spokane Valley, while our walking tours have included iniernational attendees.
Additional events and activities, including new exhibits, have always proven to be of interest to those looking to day-trip or
overnight in Ellensburg and Kittiias County. We are looking to promote exhibits between historical sites and museums in and
throughout Ellensburg and Kiititas County as well as Central Washington. We are working on exhibit plans and programming
options wilh our fellow museums and heritage sites in and around Kittiias County, along with many other groups, organizations,
and local businesses.
4l Collaboration
Response 4.1 : lf your organization collaborates or has created partnerships with other organizations, groups, or other events,
how is this accomplished?*
Each year, our Museum hosts a variety of special exhibits, programs, and evenis that promote the history, heritage, and culture
of Kittiias County, which tie in to other events, activities, and celebrations occurring in and around Ellensburg and Kittitas
County. We work with local businesses and non-profits to co-market ihese events io increase exposure for both parties. ln the
past & present, we have sought assistance thrcugh the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce which has been beneficial.
Through co-sponsoring events, having a booth, etc., we have increased our presence at events throughout the County. We
expect to continue expanding our community presence in 2425.
We partner with organizations and businesses to provide exhibits, information, or provide involvement that helps to enhance
community events. A few of lhose are: Walking Tours (Gallery One, Ellensburg Downtown Association); Hisiory Pub Crawl (EDA
and four local restaurants, happens twice yearly); partnering to support events like Juneteenth, exhibits highlighting the history
and culture of the K'titaas people at the Ellensburg School District and other businesses; an annual display and activity in
partnership with the PSE Wild Horse Wind Farm; and more.
We also partnerwith other events like GustFesi aka Ellensburg Music Preservation Project, the Threshing Bee & Equipment
Show, & many other community events that fit our mission to collect, preserye, & share the history herilage, & culture of Kittitas
County.
We also partner with other organizations through our exhibits and programming, sttch as ihe Roslyn Museum, the Norihern
