30. Nondiscrimination:

<br />ln the performance of this Agreement, the Contractorwitl notdiscriminate
<br />against any emptoyee or applicant for emptoyment on the grounds of race,
<br />creed, cotor, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, maritalstatus, age or
<br />the presence of any sensory, mental or physical handicap; provided that
<br />the prohibition against discrimination in emptoyment because of
<br />handicap shatt not appty if the particutar disabitity prevents the proper
<br />performance of the particutar worker invotved. The Contractor shatl ensure
<br />that appticants are emptoyed, and that emptoyees are treated during
<br />empl.oyment without discrimination because of their race, creed, cotor,
<br />national, origin, sex, sexual. orientation, maritaI status, age or the presence of
<br />any sensory, mentator physicat handicap. Such action shatl inctude, but not
<br />be timited to: emptoyment, upgrading, demotion or transfers, recruitment or
<br />recruitment advertising, tayoff or termination, rates of pay or other forms of
<br />compensation, and programs for training inctuding apprenticeships. The
<br />Contractor shatt take such action with respect to this Agreement as may be
<br />required to ensure futt comptiance with locat, state and federal laws
<br />prohibiting discrimination in employment.

<br />The Contractor wil,l, not discriminate against any recipient of any services or
<br />benefits provided for in this Agreement on the grounds of race, creed, cotor,
<br />national, origin, SeX, Sexual, orientation, marital Status, age or the presence of
<br />any sensory, mental or physicat handicap.
<br />lf any assignment and/or subcontracting has been authorized by the County,
<br />said assignment or subcontract shat[ inctude appropriate safeguards against
<br />discrimination. The Contractor shat[ take such action as may be required to
<br />ensure ful.L comptiance with the provisions in the immediatel,y preceding
<br />paragraphs herein.
<br />31. Prevail.ingWage:
<br />The Contractor shal,t pay the prevaiting rate of wages to at[ workers, [aborers, or mechanics
<br />empl,oyed in the performance of any part of the Work in accordance with RCW 39.12 and
<br />the rul.es and reguLations of the Department of Labor and lndustries. The schedute of
<br />prevail,ing wages rates for the local,ity or locatities of the Work is determined by the
<br />lndustrial. Statistician of the Department of Labor and lndustries. lt is the Contractor's
<br />responsibitity to verify the appl,icabte prevail,ing wage rate. lt is understood that the
