Treasurer’s Office has recommended approval and stated <br />that the ALS Association is a well-known non-profit and <br />they verified its status as a 501©3. They stated that the <br />event is not subject to Admissions Tax and they <br />recommend approval of the event. <br /> <br />Fire Marshal has stated the following: <br /> <br />1) Extinguishers shall be placed at all rest stops and check <br />points. Noting that if tent size increases to 400 square <br />feet or larger a tent permit will be required from the <br />Fire Marshal’s Office. <br /> <br /> Sheriff stated the following: <br /> <br />No objections or special requests but asked that the <br />event coordinator notify and obtain necessary permits <br />from the City of Cle Elum, WA State Parks, or any <br />other jurisdiction that could be affected. <br /> <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Special Event Application to hold the Ride to <br />Defeat ALS, Ironhorse on Saturday August 16, 2025. <br /> <br />HANDLING: BOCC Staff to send notice to applicant and notify County <br />Departments & KITTCOM, noting a waiver to the Penal <br />Bond and complying with recommendations from: Public <br />Works, Sheriff, Fire Marshal, & Treasurer. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Special Event Application <br /> Certificate of Liability Insurance/Endorsement <br /> Memos from County Departments with recommendations <br /> Treasurer’s Receipt for Event Permit Fee <br /> <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Mandy Buchholz, Office Administrator <br />
