Survey on Short Term Rentals <br /> have outdoor fires during our Bum Bans, animals off leash running around, garbage left out and <br /> dogs and bears get into it. Trespassing and taking over our community beach on the Yakima <br /> River common area. Making it unusable for my children during the times they are here. Leaving <br /> trash at the beach on the river. The list goes on. Just extremely frustrating. <br /> 184 They put neighbors on point to deal with the renters. When teh neighborhood consistantly changes,you are unable to create <br /> a safe environment for teh kids, pets, livestock. Strangers coming to our door at odd hours wanting to borrow tools, kitchen <br /> appliances, not furnished in rental. <br /> 192 No longer neighbors. Especially up in Hyak it has gotten worse to the point that every weekend 2/5/2025 7:09 AM <br /> is a new party house popping up. <br /> 193 People coming and going have no tie to the community and the property owner is concerned 2/5/2025 7:09 AM <br /> with keeping the unit occupied for revenue. Families and locals are more prone to move away <br /> since housing and rent prices continue to increase yet economic opportunity in Ellensburg <br /> remains fairly stagnant. <br /> 194 1 believe short-term rentals negatively affect the sense of community in my neighborhood 2/5/2025 7:03 AM <br /> because they replace long-term neighbors with a constant flow of tourists who have no <br /> investment in the area.
