Survey on Short Term Rentals
and party at their rental and then leave. The majority of the money for the rental tends to flow
down to King county since many of the local owners live in Seattle and Bellevue. This
therefore does not positively benefit our neighborhood.
256 The only person they benefit is the owner that can't afford to pay their own mortgage 2/6/2025 9:22 AM
payments.
257 It gives a great chance for outsiders to come up and enjoy the pass, many of which would 2/6/2025 9:17 AM
have not had the opportunity had there not been short-term rentals available. It helps put our
very small community on the map and promote local business which we do a great job up here
of keeping local. There is a strong balance between short-term rentals, local economy, and full-
time residents that needs to be met in order to maintain the feel that we have. Getting rid of it
would be silly, but they're obviously needs to be more opportunity for affordable housing,
especially for the employees who rely on proximity to the pass.
258 dining, market, drubru all benefit 2/6/2025 9:14 AM
259 Hey give guests options on how they want to vacation and bring visitors to the towns! 2/6/2025 8:56 AM
260 Bringing tourists to the area to spend money 2/6/2025 8:55 AM
261 Highlights the area and shops, restaurants, and all that the area has to offer. 2/6/2025 8:51 AM
262 They provide a great way of exposing our area to others that don't live in the Kittitas area. It 2/6/2025 8:49 AM
drives revenue and business for the local community.
263 Increased cost of living for full time residents; terrible experiences with partying and poor 2/6/2025 8:49 AM
behavior; no accountability for the hazards of roofline snow and ice, many dangerous
situations that will result in death or disability one of these days
264 Bring people to the mountains who ordinarily wouldnt have accommodations. 2/6/2025 8:47 AM
265 More people staying in towns, spend money in towns, especially at restaurants, shops, small 2/6/2025 8:45 AM
businesses etc
266 They don't respect the rules or contribute to the community 2/6/2025 8:45 AM
267 People who stay up here hopefully like to spend money up here(Snoqulamie pass) 2/6/2025 8:41 AM
268 The people benefiting from short term rentals are the owners of the house. Having short term 2/6/2025 8:40 AM
rental money in the local economy is a drop in the bucket
269 Increase tourism revenue 2/6/2025 8:37 AM
270 But only seasonally 2/6/2025 8:37 AM
271 They bring year round tourism which is the areas leading industry since the end of coal mining. 2/6/2025 8:37 AM
272 The guests buy groceries, do tourist activities and dine out in the area. 2/6/2025 8:32 AM
273 They bring tourist$$to the local businesses. 2/6/2025 8:24 AM
274 It makes housing for local workers unsustainable due to high costs. 2/6/2025 8:21 AM
275 1 believe there are way too many. There aren't any rental under$2000 that aren't disgusting. 1 2/6/2025 8:17 AM
make a lot of money and contribute to our community in many ways and have had to live in
my trailer for the past 4 years since moving here because it is the only comfortable thing I
have to live in here.
276 Taxes are collected and there are more visitors who stay over the weekend. Helping with local 2/6/2025 8:05 AM
businesses.
277 Visitor revenue 2/6/2025 8:01 AM
278 minimally contribute to food &bev industry, but then locals avoid those busy places 2/6/2025 8:00 AM
279 There is very little hotel accomodation in the upper valley for family events. They bring in 2/6/2025 7:53 AM
plenty of money to the community.
280 allow for versatility 2/6/2025 7:43 AM
281 Allows for affordable places that large groups and families can stay and visit our community. 2/6/2025 7:40 AM
12/96
