Must maintain courteous and cooperative working <br /> relationships with administrative and other County personnel, public agencies, <br /> and the general public,and work under the guidance of LocaVState/Federal <br /> regulations and County code,policies,and procedures. <br /> SUPERVISORY DUTIES: None. <br /> CATEGORY: Full-Time OCCUPATION CODE: HR? <br /> UNION AFFILIATION: None HOURS/WEEK: 40 <br /> FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt DRS ELIGIBILITY: PERS <br /> BACKGROUND CHECK LEVEL: Routine PROBATIONARY PERIOD: Twelve (12) <br /> Months <br /> _ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: <br /> System-wide planning:Coordinates and leads the development or update of facility, recreation and open <br /> space management plans, land and resource management plans,and portions of Kittitas County's <br /> Comprehensive Plan,coordinating staff teams, contractors/consultants, and members of the public. <br /> Develop systemwide policy in accordance with county practices and priorities, and plan commitments. <br /> Develops and leads inclusive community engagement opportunities. Make recommendations to support <br /> the advancement and integration of all facilities, recreation and open space policy including policy around <br /> ecosystem health and resilience,agriculture, responsible recreation, stewardship and enjoyment, <br /> community connections,education and inclusion,and financial sustainability. Presents recommendations <br /> to the Board of County Commissioners(BOCC) and other relevant boards and committees. Utilizes GIS to <br /> analyze and interpret data and create graphically effective maps and presentation graphics for planning <br /> and illustrative purposes. <br /> Area and site-planning:Coordinates and leads the development of area and site plans in conjunction with <br /> Public Works facility staff for specific geographic locations or regions comprising larger interagency efforts <br /> at the conceptual and/or schematic design level. Makes recommendations to integrate and help translate <br /> broader guidance into actionable implementation plans, integrated into coordinated workplans and the <br /> department's capital and operating budgets that inform department work planning. Develops and leads <br /> inclusive community engagement opportunities and presents and makes recommendations to the Board <br /> of County Commissioners(BOCC)and other relevant boards and committees <br /> County-wide and regional planning:Serves as a liaison and departmental representative to outside <br /> consultants, local governments, regional government agencies and non-government organizations and <br /> serve as departmental project manager for local and regional planning initiatives and projects, including <br /> among other things regional trails and comprehensive planning.Assists with land use planning projects <br /> and serves a lead on more complex land use planning projects like planned unit developments and long <br /> plats.Works with developers to create recreation and open space opportunities and access on land use <br /> 1 <br />
