Response 1.1: Please provide a description of your project/event.*
Response 1.2: Please provide us link to a brief video summary of you organization's event/project.*
As the Kittitas County Historical Museum, we seek funding to continue sparking interest in and strengthening awareness of the
museum, its presence, offerings such as exhibits, programs, educational experiences, while also inviting individuals into our
space. Our advertising focuses on our exhibits, events, activities; many of which are very unique to our Museum and region.
Many individuals visit to see our extensive collection and display of Ellensburg Blue Agate & to learn more about the stone;
which we will also feature in new exhibit labels & presentations through our lecture series. We also feature an elaborate exhibit
on the legends and lore of the region, including Mel’s Hole. Both our Ellensburg Blue & Mel’s Hole exhibits have drawn guests
from across the world. Overall, we have over 50 different exhibits up at any one time, highlighting aspects of Ellensburg &
Kittitas County history since time immemorial to present day. There is always something for visitors to experience and explore.
We have many highlights for 2025 including city plattings and incorporations, our purchase of the Cadwell Building, county-wide
anniversary dates related to infrastructure, transportation, the Fair and more. We will continue collaborating with the Nason
Aronica family for both Indigenous focused exhibits & workshops, as well as with other diverse & cultural groups. We will
continue building & strengthening events and activities around historic preservation & community anniversaries. We will also
continue our successful walking tours, scavenger hunts, history pub crawl, and other events. Our 2025 lecture series features
statewide presenters on topics of Indigenous culture, local history, & topics of interest. Our campaigns seek to connect the public
to the Museum, while the Museum commits itself to a greater sharing of local history & historic preservation. The campaigns
also focuses marketing in areas that we have had success in & wish to expand interest in as individuals in these areas
frequently travel through or visit (via day-trip or overnight). Areas include the greater King County area, specifically Des Moines,
Kent, & Issaquah, the Tri-Cities DMA, Spokane DMA, and the Portland (OR) DMA. We plan to update interested individuals
through online marketing (organic & paid marketing) for specific interests, general awareness, event/activity promotion, website
updates, &newsletters.
2500 character limit
Note: You MUST be present at the Q&A meeting to qualify for funding.
https://youtu.be/PogCko3Y5GY
Response 1.3: List of Intended Use of Funds *
Note: This language will be related in the contract if awarded.
The CLTAC cannot approve funds not listed under RCW 67.28.1816.
