Response 1.1: Please provide a description of your project/event.*
Response 1.2: Please provide us link to a brief video summary of you organization's event/project.*
3| Impact
Smokey’s Bar-B-Que and Pacific Northwest Barbeque Association PNWBA have teamed up to put on the Rodeo City Ribfest in
conjunction with the Ellensburg Rodeo Festivities. This event will take place in downtown Ellensburg on Pearl Street on August
23-24. Set against the backdrop of the historic Ellensburg downtown on Pearl Street, the Rodeo City Ribfest is a premier event
that celebrates the artistry of barbecue, with a special focus on ribs and live fire grilling techniques. This competition is designed
to integrate seamlessly with the pre rodeo festivities, offering attendees an enhanced experience that combines the thrill of
rodeo sports with the sensory pleasure of traditional and innovative barbecue.
2500 character limit
Note: You MUST be present at the Q&A meeting to qualify for funding.
https://www.instagram.com/reel/C_MDib4yNSo/?igsh=aTNvbWJ2OHZoMjU4
Response 1.3: List of Intended Use of Funds *
Note: This language will be related in the contract if awarded.
The CLTAC cannot approve funds not listed under RCW 67.28.1816. By offering a culinary counterpart to the rodeo's athletic spectacle, the event aims to attract a diverse
group of participants and spectators, enhancing the overall rodeo experience. We plan on having 25 PNW BBQ competition
teams (coming from Washington, Oregon, Idaho and California) at this years event, The average team has three people on
there team. With every team that comes, PNWBA will provide a certified judge for the competition. So the estimated out of town
team and judge participation is 75 to 100 people. Then you have the BBQ enthusiast that travel to different competitions
throughout the PNW.
2500 character limit
Response 2.2: Describe the prior success of your event/activity/facility to attract tourists.*
We have held two other BBQ coemptions in Kittitas County, Rodeo City Rib Fest 2023 and Cle Elum Blues Brews & BBQ
Festival 2018.
