Response 1.1: Please provide a description of your project/event.*
Response 1.2: Please provide us link to a brief video summary of you organization's event/project.*
The Downtown Cle Elum Association is a non-profit organization whose mission is to
Preserve, Protect and Enhance Cle Elum's Historic Downtown. This is done
through successful partnerships with multiple layers of collaborative opportunity, year-round, marketing of our downtown and
tourism in Cle Elum and Upper County. Through an exhaustive Strategic Planning Process in 2023, we have also added an
emphasis on cultivation of a community centered downtown core for families to gather, shop and play.
In the past 5-years, we have seen exponential growth in our communities and in event attendance. We have (3) signature
events for the year, including Pioneer Days, Boo-Elum and Christmas in Cle Elum. Pioneer Days, a heritage celebration of over
50 years, had an attendance of over 4,535 (obtained through an informal survey and structured estimate). There 1.9K new user
visits to the Cle Elum Downtown Association website during the Pioneer Days event window (Google Analytics) - 81.2% of
visitors were using a mobile device (+8.4% as compared to 2023 Pioneer Days event). All businesses and events were given the
opportunity to distribute Pioneer Days branded water (canned through a partnership with Dru Bru) -- these cans were distributed
across WA State, from Spokane to Vancouver to increase tourism and promotion to and for the event. CEDA had an event
engagement of 11.8K from July 1, 2024 - July 8, 2024. This is an increase of 7.1K as compared to 2023 data and 9.8K over
2022. Additionally, we had an increase of over 40% traffic on the CEDA websites (as compared to like data from 2023). Taking
into consideration the physical counts that we have done in year's prior, along with attendance information from other Pioneer
Days sub-events -- we can say with some certainty that numbers were up approximately 5% as compared to 2023. 1.3% of the
entries were out-of-state zip codes.
We believe that our trending increase in attendance is due to the increased partnerships in the community and the fact that Cle
Elum has been identified as a location that offers year-round opportunities, for all ages. Through our marketing outreach, the Cle
Elum Downtown Association has begun partnering with a variety of organizations and businesses, including UKC Medic One,
the Cle Elum School District, Dru Bru, Girl/Cub/Boy Scouts, Cle Elum Fire Dept, City of Cle Elum, Chamber of Wolfpoint (MT),
WSDOT, and network of 38 communities in WA State and beyond through the Main Street Program.
2500 character limit
Note: You MUST be present at the Q&A meeting to qualify for funding.
https://www.canva.com/design/DAGRQUyoRx8/476ThCIVcdI97JokmguHRw/watch?
utm_content=DAGRQUyoRx8&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link&utm_source=editor
Response 1.3: List of Intended Use of Funds *
Note: This language will be related in the contract if awarded.
The CLTAC cannot approve funds not listed under RCW 67.28.1816.
