Priority 2: Corridor lmprovements Gountywide
This project aims to design, develop and implement a system of embedded LED markers, roadway
edgeline rumble strips and/or carsonite delineation markers to enhance visibility, safety and reduce run-off
the road accidents on the identified corridors. The corridors have been identified through analysis of
collision data from 2019-2023. Although the crash data is tied to smaller segments of the identified roads,
the County believes applying improvements to the entire corridor is more appropriate than the
countermeasure application to short segments.
First, the project will investigate existing technologies, best practices and relevant regulations, The County
will assess the viability of different marker designs, materials, rumble strip patterns and options. Then the
County will analyze the coslbenefit ratio along with practicality of implementation at each identified
corridor.
Next, a plan will be developed for the deployment of the selected treatments on the identified corridors.
This includes site selection, installation procedures and integration with existing infrastructure, Project plans
and Specifications will be assembled to advertise for the construction and implementation of the
improvements, lt is expected that each corridor will have a unique combination of countermeasure
improvements,
Corridors ldentified through the2025 Safety Plan lnclude:
Road Name Milepost Reference Location
I Look Rd 0.00-3.30 Sanders Rd to Alford Rd
2 No.6 Rd 0.00-5.10 Vantaqe Hwy to Thrall Rd
3 Bullfroq Rd 0.00-2.70 l-90 to SR 903 Roundabout
4 Cove Rd 1.14-4.14 Robinson Canyon Rd to Manastash Rd
5 Thorp Hiqhwav South 0.00-5,30 l-90 Exit 106 to l-90 Exit 101
6 Wilson Creek Rd 0.00-4.87 Vantaqe Hwv to Alford Rd
7 Hanson Rd 0,00-3,08 Thoro Hwv South to Cove Rd
B Westside Rd 0,19-4.17 South Cle Elum to Tree Haven Rd
1_5
