VISION, MISSION, & GUIDING PRINCIPLES <br />Vision <br />Att peopte with devetopmental disabitities witl have the opportunity to reach their futt potential, <br />achieve their dreams, live futfitted lives, and be contributing members of our community. <br />Mission <br />To foster an inctusive environment that supports citizens with developmentat disabitities and their <br />famities to participate in and contribute to all aspects of the community. <br />Guiding Principles <br />INCLUSION is the abitity to be present and included in our neighborhoods, schoots, community <br />groups, retigious spaces and recreational activities. lnclusion offers us opportunities to meet <br />others, participate in community tife, and feet welcome. <br />POWER AND CHOICE mean recognizing what we want and how to achieve it. Power is having the <br />abitity to direct or inftuence our own lives. Choice is the opportunity to make decisions that are <br />right for us and includes the opportunity to succeed or fait. <br />HEALTH AND SAFETY mean the abitity to [ive and work in a safe ptace, to have access to quality <br />heatth care, and to learn what we need to do to take care of our heatth and safety needs. <br />COMPETENCE is tearning to do things that make our lives better and being supported to do things <br />for oursetves. lt includes communicating effectively with those who provide us with supports and <br />being abte to direct those supports. <br />CONTRIBUTION is feeting good about ourselves, being vatued and wett regarded by others, and <br />being recognized for what we contribute to our community. <br />RELATIONSHIPS offer a sense of belonging, continuity, intimacy and give meaning to tife. <br />Connection to others provides support and opens doors to new opportunities and experiences. <br />illl <br />7
