ASSETS, GAPS, OPPORTUNTIES, CHALLENGES <br />The Devetopmental Disabitities Advisory Committee has conducted an anatysis of services in Kittitas <br />County based on avaitabte information. Assets are strengths in our community that may be abte to be <br />built upon. Gaps are areas where the county is not meeting the need of peopte with devetopmental <br />disabilities. Opportunities are potential actions that coutd be taken to improve services. Finatty, <br />chatlenges are areas that may need additional resources to sotve. <br />STRENGTHS /ASSETs <br />. Community support. Central WA University. Special Olympics. Parent to Parent program <br />GAPS/WEAKNESSES <br />. Employers. Transportation. Accessibility. County-wide services. Qualified job coaches and caregivers. Respite. Assisted living. Adaptive sports. Year round recreation <br />OPPORTUNITIES <br />. Strengthen support systems. Recruit employers. Funding for year round recreation. Utitize CWU (adaptive sports, for exampte). Make staffing more appealing, less barriers. lncrease daytime drop in hours. lncrease social and recreation opportunities.
