Also noting they are <br />to use KITTCOM for emergency situations. <br /> <br />Treasurer’s Office has recommended approval. Stating <br />that they have confirmed their non-profit status and will not <br />need to remit admissions tax. <br /> <br />Public Health has stated the following: <br /> <br />1.) Ensure that there are an adequate number of porta- <br />potties for the event. <br /> <br />Fire Marshal has stated the following: <br /> <br />1.) The tent will be in the City of Ellensburg, Applicant <br />needs to obtain a tent permit from the City of <br />Ellensburg and /or KVFR. <br />2.) Have fire extinguishers available at all rest stops and <br />check points. <br /> <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Special Event Application to hold the annual <br />Yakima River Canyon Marathon & Half Marathon on <br />Saturday March 29, 2025, with the discussed contingencies <br />and recommendations. <br /> <br />HANDLING: BOCC Staff to send notice to the applicant and notify <br />County Departments & KITTCOM, noting a waiver to the <br />Penal Bond and complying with recommendations from: <br />Public Works, Sheriff, and Fire Marshal. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Special Event Application <br /> Certificate of Liability Insurance/Endorsement <br /> Memos from County Departments with recommendations <br /> Treasurer’s Receipt for Event Permit Fee <br /> <br />
