Survey on Short-Term Rentals
105 Dilutes community spirit and drives up housing costs! Renters benefit maybe only Safeway but 2/9/2025 11:44 AM
no others establishments, yet create noise and traffic and demands on our services. They do
not care about this place...only about the house they rent.
106 The reality is the hospitality industry is the biggest economic driver for our community. I do 2/9/2025 10:44 AM
think regulation is needed so not every property is a rental. Suncadia is an obvious property to
remain a rental area but I do think there should be regulation on any future development and
regulating any new ones. The other thing we need to do is identify another economic driver for
our community outside of hospitality to diversify our community economic drivers.
107 All guests spend money here 2/9/2025 10:35 AM
108 Allow non residents to vacation here easily and support the local economy if restaurants and 2/9/2025 10:28 AM
activity providers
109 Brings additional revenue to local business 2/9/2025 10:19 AM
110 Brings in tourists 2/9/2025 10:00 AM
111 Tourism dollars coming in! 2/9/2025 9:44 AM
112 They allow others to enjoy the community. Additionally it allows homeowners to take 2/8/2025 9:14 PM
advantage of getting use of out their home even when they are not here.
113 To bad there such assholes 2/8/2025 6:19 PM
114 This area has become a resort area and it has its good points and bad points. Brings more 2/8/2025 6:01 PM
money to the businesses. Brings more people that don't respect the land.
115 Bringing people in that will spend money at local businesses and then go home! 2/8/2025 2:59 PM
116 Many sort term renters utilize facilities at the pass, rentals, grocery goods, 2/8/2025 12:16 PM
117 Guests visiting our area, utilize county services, shop in our shops and eat our restaurants. 2/8/2025 10:53 AM
They support our economy and create jobs for our local community.
118 They use up housing that would be available to full time residents. 2/8/2025 10:49 AM
119 Brings people in who then shop and support small business 2/8/2025 10:18 AM
120 Short term rentals is a great source of income for families. It also brings in so much weekend 2/8/2025 7:54 AM
business to the local businesses as long as we work together to promote local business to
them. It opens doors for the renters to work with local businesses as well to promote specials
and local shopping.
121 They eat out, shop for souvenirs in places we use for essentials, they buy groceries and fuel, 2/8/2025 7:53 AM
they bring excitement about being here
122 They put constant struggle and hardship in the people who live in their homes full time 2/8/2025 7:53 AM
123 Yes, the allow homeowners to sublet some or all of their property that they pay high taxes on. 2/8/2025 5:16 AM
STRs also create more tax revenue.
124 Short term rentals allow resort patrons lodging and an ability to access the mountain. Very little 2/7/2025 7:48 PM
lodging is offered currently with only one hotel.
125 They block parking in neighborhoods, impeding emergency access in winter. The short-term 2/7/2025 7:44 PM
rental owners are not interested in participating in maintaining or building community. Garbage
is a problem as well.
126 If no STIR; we would lose local jobs, existing businesses would see less traffic/use, visitors 2/7/2025 3:56 PM
would be less likely to make return visits, local owners would have less money to spend and
invest locally. Housing values would drop at least initially, throwing into doubt how viable the
pass is for home ownership. The perception of a"locals only" community would stilt any
further increase in the economy. A community known to shun outsiders would be less able to
attract the folks that would create new restaurants, facilities, services and experiences.
Shunning outsiders, or labelling visitors "citiots" is isolationist and divisive, and selfish in a
..me first" sense, which is disingenuous for 95% of the community. There are very few natives
at the pass, everyone came from elsewhere. So they were new once too. What's changed? If
you are into non-growth areas where you can write the manifesto...if that's your interest, why
live in a resort town?
6/87
