Families and locals are more prone to move away since housing and rent prices continue to increase yet economic opportunity in Ellensburg remains fairly stagnant. 162 1 believe short-term rentals negatively affect the sense of community in my neighborhood 2/5/2025 7:03 AM because they replace long-term neighbors with a constant flow of tourists who have no investment in the area. The beach, once a place for locals to gather and connect, is now overcrowded with short-term visitors who don't respect or understand the community's values.
