EXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br /> This 2024 Annual Bridge Report has been completed in compliance with WAC 136-20-060,which requires <br /> that each County Road Engineer furnish a written report of the findings of the previous year's inspection <br /> effort to the legislative authority. This report summarizes Kittitas County's bridge inspection program, <br /> including recommendations regarding replacement, rehabilitation, repair, and load restrictions on the <br /> County's deficient bridges.This annual bridge report is an important resource in preparing the County Six <br /> Year Transportation Improvement Program and other transportation planning tools. <br /> The goal of this report is to: <br /> 1. Provide the previous year's bridge inspection findings <br /> 2. Provide maintenance recommendations to maximize the life of the County bridge asset <br /> 3. Identify bridges which may need to be replaced or rehabilitated <br /> 4. Satisfy the reporting requirements set by other governmental agencies <br /> Highlights from the 2024 bridge inspection program: <br /> 1. 141 bridge inspections were performed <br /> a. 53 routine inspections performed on Kittitas County bridges. <br /> b. 88 other bridge inspections including short span and other local agency bridges. <br /> 2. Kittitas County was awarded $2,463,189 in Federal Lands Access Program funds for the <br /> replacement of the weight restricted Liberty Road over Swauk Creek Bridge.The work began <br /> in June of 2024 and was completed in November of 2024. <br /> 3. Kittitas County was awarded $2,722,997 in Washington State Department of Transportation <br /> Local Bridge funds for the replacement of the weight restricted Cooke Canyon Road over <br /> Hiline Canal Bridge. The proposed work began November 27, 2023, and completed in April <br /> of 2024. <br /> 4. Kittitas County was awarded $2,531,727 in Washington State Department of Transportation <br /> Local Bridge funds for the replacement of the weight restricted Faust Road over Town Ditch <br /> Bridge.The proposed work began November 13, 2023 and completed in April of 2024. <br /> 5. A new concrete bridge was constructed on Vantage Highway crossing the Cascade Canal <br /> which replaced a weight restricted,timber deck and timber superstructure bridge. <br /> 6. A new concrete bridge was constructed on the North Fork Teanaway Road crossing the North <br /> Fork Teanaway River replacing a weight restricted concrete structure that had accident <br /> damage. <br /> 7. Bridge No.78112,which consists of two steel culverts,had ownership transferred to the City <br /> of Ellenburg due to City annexation of the accompanying area. <br /> Kittitas County 2024 Annual Bridge Report <br />
