BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO AWARD FUNDS FROM THE 1/10TH OF 1% MENTAL HEALTH AND <br />CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY TAX <br /> <br />RESOLUTION No. 2025 -_______ <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) established a mental health <br />tax via Kittitas County Ordinance No. 2021-017; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the proceeds generated from the Mental Health Tax imposed pursuant to RCW <br />82.14.460, are to be to used to fund programs related to chemical dependency, mental health <br />treatment, or therapeutic courts; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County 1/10 of l% Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Tax <br />Advisory Board was established by Resolution 2022-185 and was tasked with developing the <br />goals, objectives, and metrics for the use of funds generated by the mental health and chemical <br />dependency tax as well soliciting and collecting proposals and making recommendations to the <br />BOCC and to serve as the advisory board on matters related to alcohol and substance abuse, <br />mental health; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in August 2024, the Kittitas County 1/10 of l% Mental Health and Chemical <br />Dependency Tax Advisory Board published a Request for Proposals for new or expanded <br />services and programs in Kittitas County to support youth, veterans, and seniors. The Board <br />received thirteen responses; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County 1/10 of l% Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Tax <br />Advisory Board made funding recommendations to the BOCC on November 19, 2024. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Kittitas County, Washington, hereby authorizes funding from the revenue generated by the 1/10 <br />of 1% Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Tax as follows: <br /> <br />• Boys & Girls Club of the Columbia Basin: $306,988.00 <br />• Community Builders: $182,020.00 <br />• Comprehensive Healthcare: $416,003.52 <br />• Kittitas County Friends of Animals: $60,000.00 <br />• Kittitas County Recovery Community Organization: $201,972.00 <br />• Kittitas County Superior Court: $45,376.00 <br /> <br />The funding is approved for the period from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026. <br />Professional Service Agreements (PSA) will be required for each agency, except for Kittitas <br />County Superior Court, which is a Kittitas County Department and does not require a PSA. <br /> <br /> <br />ADOPTED this day of __________________. <br />
