KITTITAS COUNTY <br />PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM January 27, 2025 <br />Board members present: Vice -Chairman Cory Wright and Commissioner <br />Brett Wachsmith. <br />Others: Josh Fredrickson, Arden Thomas, Sally Kraft, Public Works; <br />Stephanie Hartung, Prosecuting Attorney's Office. <br />At 1:30PM Vice -Chairman Cory Wright opened the Public Works Study <br />Session. <br />No Citizen Comments <br />2024 KITTITAS COUNTY AIRPORT ANNUAL REPORT <br />The Airport Advisory Committee (AAC) charter adopted December 21, <br />2020 requires an annual report be presented to the Board of County <br />Commissioners. Josh Fredrickson provided the Board of County <br />Commissioners with accomplishments for 2024 and an update on long- <br />range goals of economic development and growth. The AAC and staff <br />collaborated to develop an improved T-hangar waitlist policy. In the <br />fourth quarter, the FAA rescinded their previously issued approval to <br />remove the crosswind runway. This has impacted the design of the <br />parallel taxiway project. Staff continues to work with the FAA on the <br />process to remove the crosswind runway. <br />PUBLIC FACILITIES PROJECT AWARDS <br />Josh Fredrickson briefed the Board of County Commissioners on three <br />projects that the Conference of Governments (COG) has motioned to <br />support through funds from Kittitas County Distressed County Sales <br />and Use Tax (.09 funds). These funds are for the purpose of <br />supporting economic growth and financing public infrastructure. The <br />projects are two specific infrastructure projects, one for Town of <br />South Cle Elum and one for City Kittitas, and the third is for <br />ongoing support of the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce. Town of <br />South Cle Elum water main design in the amount of up to one (1) <br />million dollars. City of Kittitas sanitary sewer design in the amount <br />of one (1) point one (1) million dollars. Chamber of Commerce funding <br />in the amount of one -hundred -eighty (180) thousand dollars. Funding <br />is available in the Public Facilities Fun (Fund 108). The Board of <br />County Commissioners directed staff to bring forth enabling documents <br />for consideration at an upcoming Agenda. <br />01/27/25 MINUTES <br />
