KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: January 21, 2025 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to advertise a Notice of Call for Sealed Bids for the Search <br />and Rescue Facility Site Preparation project. <br />BACKGROUND: Public Works has been working to with the Sherrif's Office to design <br />and construct a Search and Rescue/Emergency Operations Facility <br />since 2021. In 2023 Kittitas County secured an Emergency <br />Operations Center Grant in the amount of $1,186,320 and the County <br />has adopted an additional $1,549,000 for construction of the project <br />through the first phase of the vertical construction. An additional <br />$492,000 will be budgeted through a budget amendment to cover the <br />remaining costs. <br />This phase of the project will complete the site preparation including <br />clearing and rough grading of the site, access improvements, and the <br />construction of a well. The Engineer's Estimates range for this work <br />is $466,761 to $515,894. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the advertisement of a Notice of Call for Sealed Bids for <br />the Search and Rescue Facility Site Preparation Project. <br />HANDLING: Return One original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Call for Sealed Bids for the Search and Rescue Facility Site <br />Preparation project. <br />LEAD STAFF: Cameron Curtis, County Engineer <br />
