KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION <br />STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: January 13, 2025 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution selecting JRP Integrated Solutions <br />for the Kittitas County CWU Technology Transfer Center feasibility <br />study and authorize the Public Works Director to negotiate and <br />execute a Professional Services Agreement. <br />BACKGROUND: The Washington State Community Economic Revitalization Board <br />(CERB) has selected Kittitas County to receive planning grant <br />funding. This funding is to aid in financing the cost of the Kittitas <br />County CWU Technology Transfer Center Feasibility Study (Project). <br />This Project will research the architecture and construction costs to <br />repurpose an existing vacant industrial building to create hospitality, <br />meeting and office space. As part of the study, the feasibility of a <br />public/private partnership to share costs of construction and <br />improvements will be explored. This planning grant will assist in the <br />groundwork for a technological transfer, training and development <br />hub to support economic and workforce development in the Central <br />Washington Region. <br />Three (3) submittals were received by the closing date of November <br />22, 2024. Submittals were reviewed by representatives from Public <br />Works, Central Washington University and the Associate Economic <br />Development Organization (ADO). <br />Consensus recommendation is to select JRP Integrated Solutions for <br />consultant services associated with this project. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Resolution selecting JRP Integrated Solutions for the <br />Kittitas County CWU Technology Transfer Center feasibility study <br />and authorize the Public Works Director to negotiate and execute a <br />Professional Services Agreement. <br />HANDLING: Return One original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution <br />LEAD STAFF: Josh Fredrickson, Director <br />
