KITTITAS COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT AGENDA DATE: January 13, 2025 ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution selecting JRP Integrated Solutions for the Kittitas County CWU Technology Transfer Center feasibility study and authorize the Public Works Director to negotiate and execute a Professional Services Agreement. BACKGROUND: The Washington State Community Economic Revitalization Board (CERB) has selected Kittitas County to receive planning grant funding. This funding is to aid in financing the cost of the Kittitas County CWU Technology Transfer Center Feasibility Study (Project). This Project will research the architecture and construction costs to repurpose an existing vacant industrial building to create hospitality, meeting and office space. As part of the study, the feasibility of a public/private partnership to share costs of construction and improvements will be explored. This planning grant will assist in the groundwork for a technological transfer, training and development hub to support economic and workforce development in the Central Washington Region. Three (3) submittals were received by the closing date of November 22, 2024. Submittals were reviewed by representatives from Public Works, Central Washington University and the Associate Economic Development Organization (ADO). Consensus recommendation is to select JRP Integrated Solutions for consultant services associated with this project. INTERACTION: Public Works RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Resolution selecting JRP Integrated Solutions for the Kittitas County CWU Technology Transfer Center feasibility study and authorize the Public Works Director to negotiate and execute a Professional Services Agreement.
