KITTITAS COUNTY <br />PUBLIC WORKS/COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICES STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM January 13, 2024 <br />Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz, Vice -Chairman Cory <br />Wright, and Commissioner Brett Wachsmith. <br />Others: Josh Fredrickson, Sally Kraft, Public Works; Amy McGuffin, <br />Chamber of Commerce; Stephanie Hartung, Prosecuting Attorney's <br />Office. <br />At 1:38PM Chairman Laura Osiadacz opened the Public Works Study <br />Session. <br />No Citizen Comments <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION SELECTING JRP INTEGRATED SOLUTIONS <br />FOR THE KITITAS COUNTY CWU TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER CENTER FEASIBILITY <br />STUDY AND AUTHORIZE THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO NEGOTIATE AND <br />EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT. <br />Josh Fredrickson briefed the Board of County Commissioners about the <br />planning grant funding that will be provided through the Washington <br />State Community Economic Revitalization Board (CERB). This funding <br />will be used to finance the cost of the Kittitas County CWU <br />Technology Center Feasibility Study. Submittals were requested from <br />qualified consultants to support this feasibility study. The <br />consensus recommendation is that JRP Integrated Solutions be selected <br />as the consulting firm to conduct this study from the three <br />submittals, reviewed by representatives from Public Works, Central <br />Washington University, and the Associate Economic Development <br />Organization. The planning grant will research the costs to repurpose <br />an existing industrial vacant building to create hospitality, <br />meeting, and office space. Vice -Chair Cory Wright moved to approve <br />Resolution 2025-008 and Commissioner Brett Wachsmith seconded the <br />motion. Resolution 2025-008 approved. <br />KITTITAS COUNTY AIRPORT WILDLIFE HAZARD EVALUATION AND MANAGEMENT <br />PLAN <br />Josh Fredrickson provided the Board of County Commissioners <br />information about the Wildlife Hazard Evaluation Management Plan <br />(WHMP)that has been developed for Bowers Field, in cooperation with <br />the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Wildlife Services program. The <br />emphasis is on monitoring and abating wildlife hazards within the <br />airfield environment and is an important measure to maintain safe <br />operation standards at Bowers Field. The Board of County <br />Commissioners directed staff to bring forward enabling documents for <br />consideration at an upcoming Agenda. <br />01/13/25 MINUTES <br />
