AGENDA DATE: <br />KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />December 10, 2024 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request Boards approval on a change order with KNIT. <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Maintenance has been working with KNIT <br />Architectural on the Jail maintenance and repair project. <br />While working on the project the maintenance and repair design <br />drawing the Jail command staff informed us that there are new <br />requirements for the Jail to provide outdoor recreation time year- <br />round. To meet this requirement, the outdoor recreation areas will <br />need to have a cover put on to keep snow from piling up in the winter <br />months. <br />The covered areas were included in the 2025 budget. <br />This change order is to allow KNIT to complete the design of the <br />covered areas and for construction administration during the <br />construction phase of the project. <br />INTERACTION: The Prosecutors office. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Recommend Board of county commissioners' approval of Change <br />Order with KNIT services. <br />HANDLING: Return approved <br />ATTACHMENTS: Change Order <br />LEAD STAFF: Patti Stacey, Facilities & Waste Operations Director <br />
