The Agenda for the meeting contains NO SUPPORTING
DOCUMENTS.
I have brought to your attention the failure of Kittitas County to provide and maintain a public record. Both the PW
comments and my Yakima River Canyon comments are not currently part of either meetings record.
The record (s) are available through a PDR, which can take 20-30 days to be filled. The Chairman is free to file a PDR at
the Dec 2 hearing for the 2025 budget record for BOCC review. . Personally I would like the public have the
opportunity to review the 2025 budget record before the Dec 2, 2025 public hearing.
When will the 2025 budget record be available for public review?
The current BOCC voted for the REET2 tax to support public capital recreation. The Budget and Finance Director states
REET2 is fully diverted to the county road fund. Kittitas County property owners are taxed $8.8 million to fund the
county road district tax.
During the current election 69.9 % voted not to provide additional taxes for the Road Levy.
Have REET2 funds support any capital recreation in Kittitas County? What is the 2025 plan for over$1.3 in REET2
2024 funding in 2025? Public Recreation is the most renewable industry in Kittitas County. Recreation sites in the
Yakima River Canyon host over 550,000 visitors annually.
I am requesting $100,000 in REET2 funds to support capital recreation improvements for the Yakima River Canyon.
Invest in capital recreation so future generations have access to OURRIVER.
Pat Kelleher
1
