9. Phvsical Altercations <br />While most of our guests will just be glad to be out of the cold, tempers can flare, and <br />disagreements can happen. lt is human nature to try and stop a fight once it begins. <br />Try to diffuse the situation before it becomes physical. You should stay out of any <br />physical altercations between guests. This could lead to harm to you and damage the <br />trust you have built with the other guests. lf a physical altercation happens, call 911. <br />10. Trespassed guests <br />When a guest commits a serious violation of the rules, they may be barred from <br />returning to the shelter for the season. This is up to the discretion of the Shelter <br />Manager alone. A list of the names of guests barred for the season will be provided at <br />the check-in table to ensure reentry is not permitted. <br />The goal of this program is not to deny individuals from shelter during the winter <br />season, but this does not supersede the safety of other guests, volunteers, or the <br />building itself.
