$ection 6. Elisible Expenclitutes and Accountability. If the levy is <br />approved by the voters, the approximately $152,290 of funds received annually <br />from its passage deposited per Section 5 shall be used for the purposes provided <br />therein and as identified for in the following subsections. <br />(a) Public Safety services such as police services, fire services, and snow <br />removal. <br />(b) To combat inflation and replenish City reserves. <br />$ection- 7. Authorizati.on to Deliver Resolution to Director of Elections <br />and Perform Other lrleceseary Duties. The Mayor or his designee is authorized <br />and directed to: (a) present a certifi.ed copy of this resolution to the Director of <br />Elections no later than February 23, 2024; and &) perform such other duties <br />as are necessary or required by law to submit to the City's voters at the Special <br />Election, for their approval or rejection, the proposition authorizing the City to <br />increase its regular property tax levy for collection in 2025 by an arnount <br />greater than otherwise permitted under chapter 84.55 and to use the dollar <br />amount of such ievy for the purpose of computing the limitations for the City's <br />subsequent levies under chapter 84.55 RCW. <br />Section 8. Appointment of Pro/Con Commilleeq. No later than <br />February 23, 2A24, the City Council will seek to appoint a comrnittee to <br />prepare arguments advocating voters' approvai of the measul'e ("Pro <br />Committee") and a committee to prepare arguments advocating voters' <br />rejection of the measure ("Con Committee"). The committee advocating <br />approval of the advisory proposition shall be composed of persons known to <br />favor the ballot proposition, and the committee advocating disapproval shall <br />be composed of persons known to oppose the ballot proposition. If the City <br />Council does not appoint commi.ttees by the deadline, the Kittitas County <br />Auditor's Office will seek out, and whenever possihle, appoint up to three <br />members to each committee. <br />$ection L Notices Relatins to Ballot Title.
