BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO.2024 - <br />AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS WATER RESOURCE MANAGER TO <br />ACCEPT FUNDING FROM THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF <br />ECOLOGY AND SIGN FUNDING AGREEMENT NO. WRYBIP-2325-KiCPWD-00058 <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County Public Works requested $415,000 in funding from the Department <br />of Ecology to advance the Lower Kittitas Reach Floodplain Reconnection Project <br />design phase and to coordinate stewardship and management activities among <br />public entities in the Lower Kittitas Reach; and <br />WHEREAS: The Department of Ecology has awarded grant funding for these purposes and <br />prepared Funding Agreement No. WRYBIP-2325-KiCPWD-00058; and <br />WHEREAS: The Lower Kittitas Reach Floodplain Reconnection Project will enable lands <br />recently acquired by the Flood Control Zone District to be managed for floodplain <br />management, flood risk reduction, and habitat restoration purposes; and <br />WHEREAS: This project is identified on the Flood Control Zone District Capital Improvement <br />Plan as Project No. 5; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the <br />best interest of the public, does hereby authorize the Public Works Water Resource Manager to <br />accept funding from the Washington State Department of Ecology and sign funding agreement <br />No. WRYBIP-2325-KiCPWD-00058. <br />DATED this 3rd day of December 2024, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />Attest: <br />❑ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />❑ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />Brett Wachsmith, Chairman <br />Laura Osiadacz, Vice -Chairman <br />Cory Wright, Commissioner <br />
