2. ProJect Descriptlon Summary: Provide a brief summary the project being proposed and
a general description of how it will address homelessness or affordable housing in
Kittitas County. Be sure and indicate whether the proposal is intended to provide direct
client servlces or construction, maintenance, or improvement of housing facilities,
including a proposed timeline for compietion. {:OO words max,)
The proposal is to develop a 50 unit affordable housing project in the Clty of Cle Elum. The
units will be a mixture of 2 bedroom units and 1 bedroom units including flats and town homes
Unit set asides will be a mixture of 3O% AMI units and 50% AMI units. Approximate housing
costs for residents will range from5427 to $zrz for one bedrooms and 5513 to Sg55 for two
bedrooms. These prices will normally increase over time typically LYo-2o/o annually. With the
median rent in Kittitas County being S1,192,00, we do not expect any problems with filling
these units and expanding the county's ability to serve the upper county low income
households for decades to come. The project will also be supported by HopeSource direct
assistance including; housing stability, food security, employment skill development, and
budgetlng. Further, a source of Permanent Supportive Housing funds will be requested at a
future time to suppoert homeless person-s without income.
5
