The proposed trail runs along the southern edge of Bowers Field. It is likely the <br />construction of a trail within the airport boundary will require authorization from the FAA <br />Area District Office. Approval is likely, give the location of the proposed trail and lack of <br />airspace impact. <br />The City of Ellensburg will be the applicant to the EPA. Total cost of the project is <br />estimated to be in excess of $10 million. The grant does not require a local match. As <br />property owner of the majority of the proposed reconnection route, the grant application <br />would benefit from a letter of support. Road right-of-way may not be sufficient for the <br />proposed trail width and the City would need to acquire additional easements. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />Fiscal impacts are yet to be determined. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Exhibit 1: Map of the Proposed Project Area <br />
