2025 Public Works Budget Narrative - Summary <br />Public Works administers seven funds on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners, including: Airport, Flood Control, Public <br />Facilities, Parks, Water Mitigation, Equipment Rental and Revolving and County Roads. The Kittitas County Department of Public <br />Works consists of a diverse staff of engineers, surveyors, construction specialists, equipment operators, road maintenance crews, <br />mechanics and professional support staff operating across 2,200 square miles of Central Washington. The Public Works Department <br />is responsible for the planning, engineering, design, construction, operation and maintenance of approximately 500 miles of county <br />roadways, 260 bridges, flood control, water mitigation. Department staff also coordinates new development transportation <br />infrastructure design and construction. <br />
