The proposed trail runs along the southern edge of Bowers Field. It is likely the <br /> construction of a trail within the airport boundary will require authorization from the FAA <br /> Area District Office. Approval is likely, give the location of the proposed trail and lack of <br /> airspace impact. <br /> The City of Ellensburg will be the applicant to the EPA. Total cost of the project is <br /> estimated to be in excess of$10 million. The grant does not require a local match. As <br /> property owner of the majority of the proposed reconnection route, the grant application <br /> would benefit from a letter of support. Road right-of-way may not be sufficient for the <br /> proposed trail width and the City would need to acquire additional easements. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT: <br /> Fiscal impacts are yet to be determined. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> Exhibit 1: Map of the Proposed Project Area <br />
