0 <br /> City of 209 North Ruby Street, Ellensburg WA 98926 <br /> TO: Commissioners Laura Osiadacz, Brett Wachsmith and Cory Wright <br /> FROM: Josephine Camarillo, Library Director <br /> DATE: October 11, 2024 <br /> SUBJECT: 2024 Annual Report and 2025 Funding Request <br /> The Ellensburg Public Library respectfully requests $123,000 from the County for 2025 funding year. In <br /> 2024, the City of Ellensburg allocated 1.35% of its general fund to pay for library services. County <br /> contribution comprised of 8.1% of library funding with 44% of library cardholders being county <br /> residents. County cards increased 10% from 2023. <br /> As our hotspot checkouts continue to increase, we have added a fourth <br /> hotspot to facilitate this demand. We have added text notifications for — <br /> hold items for immediate notification for our patrons. With City support, , <br /> we were able to upgraded one Library Assistant position to Library <br /> Specialist. Our electronic resources, which includes eAudio and eBooks, . <br /> continue to rise in usage. Library programming for youth and adults has <br /> been full and abundant, engaging patrons of all ages. Our popular _ <br /> programs included Humanities Speakers Series, children's storytime, <br /> jigsaw puzzle tournaments and our summer reading program. We <br /> continue to collaborate with local organizations such as Audubon, Merit, <br /> League of Women Voters, etc. We just recently hosted National Voter `" <br /> Registration Day with Auditor Bryan Elliott demonstrating the Accessible <br /> Voting Unit. <br /> Our Hal Holmes facility has also been very busy providing meeting and , f <br /> program space for our community. Our reservation system recently <br /> changed from Evance to Local Hop with credit card payment capabilities. <br /> The Ellensburg Public Library continues to thrive and serve the community. We are working at full <br /> capacity with in-person and virtual services.
