BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - <br />AUTHORIZING THE USE OF 2024 PUBLIC FACILITY AWARD (DISTRESSED <br />COUNTY SALES AND USE TAX) TO SUPPORT THE KITTITAS COUNTY CWU <br />TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER CENTER STUDY <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County has been awarded a $50,000 planning grant from the Washington <br />State Community Economic Revitalization Board (CERB) to assist in financing <br />the cost of the Kittitas County CWU Technology Transfer Center Study; and <br />WHEREAS: The CWU Technology Transfer Center Study will research the architecture and <br />construction costs to repurpose a vacant industrial building to create hospitality, <br />meeting and office space; and <br />WHEREAS: The project study will assist in developing the groundwork for a technological <br />transfer, training and development hub to support economic and workforce <br />development in the Central Washington Region; and <br />WHEREAS: The awarded planning grant requires a local match of $12,500. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, after due <br />consideration and in the best interest of the public, does hereby authorize the <br />utilization of Fund 108 (Distressed County Sales and Use Tax) funds to support <br />the grant match for the Kittitas County CWU Technology Transfer Center Study. <br />DATED on this 1 st day of October 2024, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />Attest: <br />❑ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />❑ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />Brett Wachsmith, Chairman <br />Laura Osiadacz, Vice -Chairman <br />Cory Wright, Commissioner <br />
