The committee discussed funding for the Veteran Services Program from surrounding counties budgets <br /> and the possibility of increasing millage to fund the Veteran Services Program position. Brett Wachsmith <br /> noted that he would discuss this possibility with the other commissioners. This will be an item for further <br /> discussion at the next meeting. <br /> Other Business <br /> Committee Meeting Discussion <br /> Brett Wachsmith discussed the option of making the Veterans Advisory Board(VAB)meetings quarterly. <br /> None opposed the idea. The next VAB meeting will be held Thursday September 12, 2024 at 9:30am. <br /> Honor Flights <br /> Dennis Cort informed the group that he is working with Gail Wilkerson to give presentations for Honor <br /> Flights. The Honor Flight is a national nonprofit organization that gives Veterans the opportunity to visit <br /> and share in a day of honor at the nation's memorials. The trips are paid for. One would have to qualify <br /> and apply. Mr. Cort would like to bring this presentation to the committee in September.
