KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: September 17, 2024 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Authorize the Kittitas <br />County Water Bank to Provide Legal Mitigation for the <br />future Kittitas County Public Utility District No.1 Facility <br />in Ellensburg, Washington. <br />BACKGROUND: During the September 09, 2024, Public Works Study <br />Session, staff presented a proposal to provide mitigation for <br />the future Kittitas County Public Utility District No.I <br />facility. This facility will be served by an individual well <br />and will require legal mitigation for the new use. County <br />staff also recommend that mitigation provided for this use <br />be provided per pricing and package size terms for standard <br />water bank packages. The BOCC can authorize this use <br />under the "Special Use Program" identified in KCC <br />13.40.010. At this study session, the Board directed staff to <br />prepare enabling documentation. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to authorize the Kittitas County <br />Water Bank to provide legal mitigation for the future <br />Kittitas County Public Utility District No. l facility in <br />Ellensburg, Washington. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution <br />LEAD STAFF: Samantha Cox, Water Resources Specialist <br />
