DISCUSSION: <br />Main project elements include the removal of levees and berms within the project reach, <br />the construction of flood protection set -back berms, the partial restoration of Hansen Pits, <br />and the connection and creation of side -channel habitat. Some public access elements, <br />like a parking lot on Stone Road and identification of a trail location, will be included. <br />The Bonneville Environmental Foundation has offered to work with Kittitas County to <br />support legislative outreach efforts by creating fact sheets and potentially coordinating <br />site tours. <br />FISCAL IMPACTS: <br />This project has been included in the Flood Control Zone District 6-Year Capital <br />Improvement Plan and annual budgets. Additional funding will be needed to fully <br />construct this project, and additional grants are being sought.
