KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SOLID WASTE AND MAINTENANCE MINUTES <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 108 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />TUESDAY 1 2:00 PM Jul 9, 2024 <br />Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith, Laura Osiadacz Vice- Chairman <br />and Cory Wright Commissioner <br />Others: Patti Stacey, Lisa Lawrence, and Lisa Murray (Out at 2:11 p.m.) <br />Call to Order at 2:01 p.m. At 2:01 p.m. Chairman Wachsmith announced that the Board would <br />recess into executive session for 5 minutes with action anticipated. RCW 42.30.110 (c) To <br />consider the minimum price at which real estate will be offered for sale or lease when public <br />knowledge regarding such consideration would cause a likelihood of decreased price. However, <br />final action selling or leasing public property shall be taken in a meeting open to the public. At <br />2:06 p.m. the Board reconveyed and announced they would recess into Executive Session for an <br />additional 5 minutes. At 2:11 p.m., the Board reconveyed with directions to staff. <br />Citizen Comments (1 min. time limit) None <br />Solid Waste Updates: Patti presented the Board with a comparison worksheet of garbage <br />tonnage to date this year compared to last year, stating that the numbers are down. Discussion <br />was held on Waste Management expenses, tip fees and minimum fee increases. Further <br />discussion included Yakima County fees and the fact that they own their Landfills. Patti <br />informed the Board that the new Transfer Station Project is out to bid. Discussion was held on <br />the ground water at the site, that there was a mandatory pre -bid meeting and a walk through was <br />held. <br />Request Board to Ratify Vice Chairs Signature on Contract with Hurst Construction, <br />LLC: Chairman Wachsmith moved to approve Vice Chairs signature on Contract with Hurst <br />Construction, LLC.
