BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO.2024 - <br />AUTHORIZING PUBLIC WORKS USE OF A SCORING CRITERIA SHEET TO <br />SCREEN SPEED STUDIES <br />WHEREAS: Public Works processes speed revision requests from the public; and <br />WHEREAS: Speed Studies can take several weeks and approximately $500 per study; and <br />WHEREAS: The Department of Public Works has developed a scoring criteria sheet to help <br />identify the likelihood of a speed revision request resulting a change to speed <br />limit; and <br />WHEREAS: The Department of Public Works will score speed revision requests based on the <br />scoring criteria sheet internally; and <br />WHEREAS: The Department of Public Works will proceed with a full Speed Study only if the <br />. request scores high enough to warrant further investigation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: The Board of County Commissioners, after due <br />consideration and in the best interest of the public, does hereby authorize the Department of <br />Public works to utilize a scoring criteria sheet to screen speed study requests based on likelihood <br />of meeting criteria for speed revision. <br />DATED on this 6th day of August 2024, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />Attest: <br />❑ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />❑ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASIUNGTON <br />Brett Wachsmith, Chairman <br />Laura Osiadacz, Vice -Chairman <br />Cory Wright, Commissioner <br />
