KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: August 6, 2024 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to schedule a Public Hearing for August 20, 2024, <br />at 2:00 pm local time to consider a Road Vacation of Winch <br />Road public right-of-way. <br />BACKGROUND: Winch Road was established as a part of the Lanigan Springs <br />subdivision in the mid-1970s and was brought onto the <br />County Road Network through Resolution No. 2018-224. <br />Winch Road was never built to any standard and is currently <br />used as a driveway for the first several hundred feet and as a <br />primitive trail for the remainder of the right-of-way. <br />Due to the lack of improvements and the minimal benefit to <br />the public, Public Works requests the right-of-way be <br />vacated. A public hearing is required by County code <br />considering the merits of the vacation request. At the public <br />hearing, the County Engineer will provide the Board with an <br />Engineer's Report addressing the vacation request pursuant <br />to County Code and State law. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Schedule,a Public Hearing for August 20, 2024, at 2:00 pm <br />local time to consider a Road Vacation of Winch Road public <br />right-of-way. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) Notice of Public Hearing to Public Works. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Public Hearing, Location Map <br />LEAD STAFF: Cameron Curtis, County Engineer <br />
