BRIEFING SUMMARY: • Kittitas County owns T-Hangars at Bowers Field Airport • T-Hangars are leased to tenants on a first -come, first -served basis • A waitlist policy has been developed to provide consistency to how available T- Hangars are filled BACKGROUND: Kittitas County owns T-Hangars at Bowers Field to support aviation purposes and use at the airport. T-Hangar space is leased to individuals, currently on a month -to -month basis. All of the County owned T-Hangars are occupied. Public Works receives requests from individuals to be placed on a waiting list. With the transition of the Airport to a division of Public Works, the wait list is unclear, with 12 individuals on the wait list. To provide consistency and guidance for those requesting to be on the wait list a policy regarding T- Hangar leasing and T-Hangar wait list has been developed. DISCUSSION: Kittitas County is the airport sponsor of Bowers Field with Public Works having the responsibility to lease County owned T-Hangars. To provide consistent guidance on leasing T-Hangar space a policy has been developed. In addition, requests are often received to be on a wait list for a T-Hangar. The current identified list has had individuals on the wait list for over three years. It is unclear if these individuals are continuing to seek a hangar or if the wait list is out of date. The wait list policy looks to keep the list current as well as maintain consistent guidance for T-Hangar leasing.
