d
RESEARCH
Additional demographic notes:
• White voters are more likelyto trust "local emergency service providers" than Voters of Color
(60% vs 23%).
• Those who voted in the last 4 recent general elections are more likely to trust "Kittitas County
Commissioners" than those who voted in none or just one of the last 4 elections (24% vs 7%).
Local emergency service providers and people who work in construction on road/bridge repairs are
the best messengers to reach the base and movers among target voters. Farmers or members of the
farm community are also good messengers that may appeal to all, including hard -to -get voters, though
construction workers have higher trust among the base groups.
Trusted Messengers by Target Voters
Local emergency service providers
Farmers or members of the farm community 55% 43% 64% 40%
People in construction who work on 20%
road/bridge repairs
People who work at the Public Works 35% 38% 20%
Department
Kittitas County Commissioners 21% 26% 9%
When it comes to sources of information, nearly half of voters indicate that special mailing is the best
way to be informed about the county's transportation funding needs. Other top sources include social
media and local print or online news organizations. The county website ranks in the middle tier of the
listed sources with just over a quarter of voters selecting it as one of the best methods to get
information on the matter.
20 1 DHM Research 1 Consor Kittitas County Public Works Survey I May 2024
