RECEIVED KITTITAS COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT NO.7 <br />MAY 15 2024 RESOLUTION NO.2024-8 <br />Kittitas County Auditor RESOLUTION ACCEPTING ANNEXATION PETITION <br />AND APPROVING ANNEXATION <br />Background: WHEREAS, Kittitas County Fire Protection District No. 7 is a municipal corporation <br />of the State of Washington organized and existing under Title 52 RCW; and <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with RCW 52.04.11 the District received a petition to annex an area <br />"Horse Jump Road Annexation" into the District signed by registered voters of residing in the <br />annexation petition which is described as follows: <br />SEE EXHIBIT A <br />WHEREAS; it appears that 66.6 percent of the available electors in the proposed annexation area <br />signed the petition, this exceeds the 60% of qualified registered electors of the land included in the <br />annexation petitions as required by RCW 52.04.011; and <br />WHEREAS; upon verification of sufficiency of qualified registered electors presiding within the <br />petitioned territory the Board of Fire Commissioners of Kittitas County Fire Protection District <br />No. 7 requests the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners dispense with the public hearing and <br />elections provided in RCW 52.04.011; <br />WHEREAS. The Board of Commissioners has reviewed and studied the proposal and has considered <br />the Environmental Checklist prepared by the Chief in consultation with District legal counsel <br />provided for under WAC 197-11-960. <br />Resolution: NOW THEREFORE, in accordance with RCW 52.04.011 it is hereby RESOLVED by the <br />Board of Commissioners of Kittitas County Fire Protection District No. 7 as follows: <br />1. The attached petition for annexation is verified and accepted by the Board of <br />Commissioners. <br />2. The Board declares itself lead agency for SEPA review; finds that such annexation will not <br />significantly affect the environment; and, therefore, hereby adopts a final Determination of <br />Nonsignificance; <br />District staff is directed to file this Resolution and the annexation petitions with the Kittitas <br />County Board of Commissioners and take all other necessary actions to complete the <br />annexation. <br />4. Upon approval of the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners under RCW 52.04.011(3) <br />the area described in Exhibit A shall be annexed into and made a part of Kittitas County <br />Fire Protection District No. 7. <br />
