before the lOth day of each month commencing on April j,2024. The parties <br />agree that the compensation will be reviewed on an annual basis each January <br />to adjust the compensation based on the prior year's activity. All probation fees <br />collected related to municipal court probation services shall be ritained by the <br />County as compensation for probation services. The Town also agrees to <br />reimburse the County for any expenditure made by the County that is a Town <br />provided service described in paragraph 2; provided, however, that if the Town <br />makes use of any County elected or appointed judicial officer to serve in such <br />function. The Town shall not make any payments to any County emptoyees for <br />any services related to the operation of the court; provided, however, if the <br />Town appoints the part time elected Upper District Court Judge to also serve as <br />the part time municipal court judge, the Town may pay such part time electedjudge as such additional compensation as the parties agree to provide such <br />services. The County agree to provide the same level of service to the Town to <br />the greatest extent feasible. The County will make reasonable efforts to provide <br />cost estimates for all services to be provided, and adjust the figures based on <br />actual usage. <br />4. Staffing. Kittitas County agrees to provide the same pro rata level of staffing <br />and service to municipal court cases and functions as iidoes to the district court <br />cases and functions. At least two Upper District Court clerical and/or <br />administrative staffpositions shall be designated to perform the functions of the <br />municipal court staff employees as part of their job function. It is understood <br />and agreed, howsver, that in order to better serve the public, all district court <br />staff will be available to serve the public related to municipat court cases. <br />5. Term of contract. This contract shall run from January 1,2024 to January l, <br />2025. This contract shall automatically renew on an arurual basis unless eiiher <br />party gives written notice on or before October I of each year that there will not <br />be a renewal. This contract may be renegotiated by agreement of the parties. <br />6. Ownership of Documents. All municipal court files zurd other documents <br />maintained for the municipal court are the files of the Town. Upon termination <br />or expiration of this contract, all such files shall be tendered to the Town. <br />7. Termination of Contract.
