Response 1: <br />ProjecVEvent <br />Description * <br />As the Kittitas County Historical Museum, we seek funding to continue sparking <br />interest and strengthening awareness of the museum and its presence and <br />offerings, such as exhibits, programs, and educational experiences, while inviting <br />individual$ into the space. Currently, the museum is undergoing majoa building <br />renovation which may also impact access to the bui'ding whether in actual or <br />perceived based on the look of the building, and some of the advertising will address <br />and miligate that. <br />Our campaigns focus on events, exhibits, and activities of the museum. Sonre <br />upcoming exhibits include a complete revision of the Ellensburg Blue Agate display <br />featuring new pieces donated to the collecl.ion and info provided by colleclors and <br />geologists from across Kittitas County. lt also leatures loaned materials, new <br />publications, and presentations offered in our lecture series. We have 50+ disp'ays <br />at one time and highlight many of lhese, as there is something ior everyone to <br />experience and explore. Other exhibils planned include quilts and historic clothing, <br />update$ to our legend and lore exhibit, the addition of a history of railroad wrecks in <br />Kittitas County, a special highlight of historic fires to commemorate the 135th <br />anniversary of the Great Ellensburgh Fire of July 4, 1889, adding more inclusive <br />county-wide hislory in all exhibits, several annual exhibit offerings, and much more. <br />We will continue collaborating with the Nason Aronica family for both lndigenous <br />focused exhibits and workshops, as weli as with other diverse and cultural groups. <br />We will continue building and strengthening events and activities around historic <br />preservation and community annlversaries. We will a'so continue our successful <br />walking tours and scavenger hunts while increasing the number of offered historic <br />pub crawl events in 2424 @s tickels for the eveni continue to sell out in mere <br />hours).Our 2024 leclure series fealures presenters and historic and cultures topics <br />from across the state- <br />Overall, our campaigns seek to connect lhe public to lhe Museum, while the <br />Museum commits itself lo a greater sharing clf local history and historic preservation <br />The campaigns also focuses marketing in areas that we have had success in, and <br />wish io expand interest in as individuals in these areas frequenily travel through or <br />visit (via day{rip or overnight).
