4.2 Promoting Local
*
E USrness
4.3 Host Hotel *
Descfiile hcw yoij wrll prorrole lodging eslabirshmerlts rosl:turanl.s. and busrness lor:ated;n i(it{iias Counly
WSSSM switched to a new hotel partner far 2A23: Suncadia Resort. We started our
partnership at the end of 2A22 and are excited to continue working with Suncadia on
multiple events ihroughout the year. We are engaging with Suncadia both for
WSSSM and on behalf of all CAMAH organizations. We are currently meeting with
Suncadia about our partnership for this year and are excited to implement ideas for
cross promolion of our two organizations. Suncadia information is availab,e at the
museum and is promoted by our volunteers.
To entice volunteers, WSSSM partners with Dru Bru for beer tokens, Commonweallh
restaurant for a free meal during your shift, Red Mountain coffee for drink tokens.
and even ski lessons from The Summii. Local businesses around the Pass welcome
WSSSM to posl flyers about events on their bulletin boards.
Whenever WSSSM does events at the museum, we partner with local Kittitas
County restaurants like the Firehouse/Laconia MarkeVPass Life Space,
Commonwealth and Dru Bru, and The Summit at Snoqualmte for food and
beverages for lhese events. We also partner with othe. location organizations to
promote these events through local Facebook groups. As a member of CAMAH
(Kathy McDonald is 2A23 CAMAH President and webmaster). WSSSM will utilize
our contacts in Kittitas Counly to cross-promole activities and events with other
museums and organizations. The WSSSM website has a specific section on it
highlighting local "partners' in the community.
Of course, The Central WA Outdoor logo is prominently featured on the
www.wsssm.org home page-
25(;0 c.hara{;lrii !irrit
is tlre.a ? irosl h')lei {or t,ot{ e!il1i T granl /o}.}ct'l lf yes ti:il lhg holei
No
, Yes. Suncadia Resort
5l Future Plans
Please explain whal pians exist to allow this prolecl to become self-sustairring. lnclude any plans for tickei sales, event
sponsors, and other co$t-recovery rnodels.
Future Plans *As WSSSM does not charge admission or a fee for events, our ability lo earn
revenue outside of fundrarsing or grants is limited to the gift shop sales. WSSSM
has a small operating budget, and it was determined that we could sustain our
budget and growth without applying for multiple grants. While 2022 was our best
year ever in terms of fundraising. our expenses have increased with rent and the
hiring of an Execuiive Director.
Lodging Tax Promoiion and Advertising = more awareness of lhe museum and our
ovents = more visitors = more supporters : tnore sales, etc.
The Lodging Tax funds are crucial part of our tourism marketing strategy for this
young non-profit facility.
2500 character iiff!rt
Application Questions: Part 4
