o WATERSHED
SCIENCE & ENGINEERING April 30, 2024
After the flood model is refined (Task 2.5), the City will host an outreach event for the whole community
and targeted towards properties that are identified as being in the high -risk flood zone. The outreach
will focus on flood education and notification of potential future map changes and will meet the FEMA
requirements for LOMR outreach. During the analysis of mitigation alternatives (Task 3.4), the City will
host public outreach to present the results of the alternatives analysis and solicit the public's opinion on
their preferred alternatives.
The following tasks will be completed by WSE:
• Attend and/or provide information to support meeting material preparation for the open house
meetings and the public outreach meeting.
Assumptions:
• Two WSE staff will participate in up to three in -person meetings to support public outreach.
Deliverables:
• Information to support public outreach materials.
Task 3.3. Floodplain-Stormwater Model Results Analysis
After tasks 2.4 and 2.5 are completed, the consultant team, with support from the CPT and Tech Team,
will evaluate the model results to support the development of mitigation actions. The evaluation will
include comparing the effective floodplain, previous flood model results, and updated flood model
results; identifying areas where the stormwater system helps reduce flooding or adds to the flooding,
such as moving stormwater from one area of the City to another; and to discuss where potential
interactions occur between the flood waters and the stormwater system. The results of the evaluation
will support the determination of mitigation measures in Task 3.4 and will be summarized in a
floodplain-stormwater analysis technical memo. This task also provides an opportunity for the City to
more thoroughly review the floodplain model to increase the City's level of certainty in the model
results and the identified floodplain boundaries.
WSE will:
• Provide floodplain information and input to support an evaluation comparing the existing flood
model results to potential updates incorporating the stormwater model and
stormwater/floodway interactions.
• Provide floodplain information for the technical memo.
Assumptions:
• Any identified interactions, effects, or other results of the analysis will be assessed further in
Task 3.4.
Deliverables:
• WSE contributions to draft and final floodplain-stormwater analysis technical memo
Task 3.4. Mitigation Actions
The consultant team and Tech Team will evaluate the results of the updated hydraulic model, the new
stormwater model, and the technical memo prepared in Task 3.3 to identify potential mitigation
