This work, to be conducted over the next several months with a broad group of
stakeholders across the county, is outlined in the attached documents along with the
aforementioned stakeholder list. COG has previously expressed support for this proposal.
and we believe it represents a critical step towards fully equipping our local economic
development efforts to reach the next level.
In light of this timely initiative, we respectfully request the Board of County
Commissioners formally recognize IDM's work and resultant product as a future path for
economic development. We believe that by doing so, future decisions by the BOCC and
other public entities for contracted management and associated funding of vital economic
development services will be supported by an informed process undertaken by nationally
recognized expertise and diverse county representation. We believe that by collectively
engaging in this process, we can create a more resilient and prosperous future for Kittitas
County.
Thank you for your consideration of this request as we believe it's vital to maintain our
momentum and to the ultimate success of our Economic Development Strategy Plan.
Sincerely,
i
Ma or Matthew Lu dh, irman, City of Cle E.lum
Mayor
, City of Kittitas
Commissioner Cory Wright, Kittitas County
4acy Gooloe, City of Ellensburg
Page 2 of
Bryan Elliott, Kittitas County
Rich Elliott, City oEllensburg
