BOARD OF COUNTY CONMSSIONERS
KITTITAS COUNTY
STAFF REPORT
STUDY SESSION DATE: 4/09/2024
TOPIC: Professional Service Agreement with Tenelco Inc.
ACTION REQUESTED: Ratify Charis Signature on Professional Service agreement with Tenelco Inc.
LEAD STAFF
Patti Stacey, Facilities Director.
RECOMMENDATIO
Recommend Boards approval to ratify Chairs signature on a Professional Service agreement with Tenelco Inc. for
the Land application of septage at Ryegrass.
BACKGROUND
Kittitas County Declared an emergency due to a hole in a septage lagoon at the Ryegrass facility. To do the
necessary repairs to the lagoon it was required to take the lagoon out of service and use only the second lagoon
at the facility. By doing this it has stressed the capacity of the second lagoon. While working with our
engineering team and the Department of Ecology we found that we can do a spring land application of septage
on two fields that were not applied last fall.
This spring application will give the lagoon the needed capacity to allow for the repairs to lagoon one.
FISCAL IMPACTS
The cost for the land application was budgeted in the 2024 Solid Waste Budget
ATTACHMENT
Professional Service Agreement
