BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSI4 <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO.2024 - <br />AUTHORIZE SUBMITTAL OF AIRPORT AID APPLICATION TO WASHINGTON <br />STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AVIATION DIVISION FOR BOWERS <br />FIELD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br />WHEREAS: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is programming grant funding for <br />the East Taxilane Pavement Rehabilitation and Apron Reconfiguration project at <br />Bowers Field in the amount of $406,237; and <br />WHEREAS: The County is required to match federal aviation funding with ten percent (10%) <br />of the grant award amount; and <br />WHEREAS: The Washington state Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Aviation <br />Division noticed Public Works of airport aid application which can provide funds <br />to be used as matching funds to the federal aviation funding; and <br />WHEREAS: Public Works has prepared the aid application to submit to the Washington state <br />Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Aviation Division for five percent (5%) <br />grant match to federal funding; and <br />WHEREAS: The state money lowers the County's match obligation from the Airport Fund in <br />the amount of $22,568.97; and <br />WHEREAS: The project is pending review from the FAA; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, after due <br />consideration, does hereby authorize submitting the grant application for airport <br />aid to WSDOT Aviation Division, and guarantees availability of matching funds <br />to fulfill the local match contribution requirement. <br />DATED on this 16th day of April 2024, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />Attest: <br />❑ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />❑ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />Brett Wachsmith, Chairman <br />Laura Osiadacz, Vice -Chairman <br />Cory Wright, Commissioner <br />
