Appendix B: Interview Guide
Kittitas County Road Levy
Stakeholder Interviews Rev.11/9/23
Name: Phone:
Organization: Email:
DISCUSSION GUIDE
Introduction
Kittitas County operates and maintains 562 miles of roads and 268 bridges within the County
(the County is not responsible for roads and bridges within city limits). The County performs
routine maintenance on these facilities (fills potholes, plows, etc.) and more substantial
preservation, such as paving and chip sealing. The 2018 County Transportation Plan analyzed
current road and bridge conditions and identified needed maintenance in order to maintain
these facilities in a good state of repair. Public Works staff are considering putting a measure of
the November 2024 ballot to pay for continued regular maintenance of County roads and
bridges.
About You
1. How long have you been in Kittitas County with ? What are your primary
interests? Where does transportation fit within the priorities that are important to you?
2. Do you feel County voters share your concerns about these issues/programs?
3. What's your general outlook on Kittitas County and quality of life issues?
Current Situation
4. How do you use the County's roads and bridges?
5. How would you describe the condition of these facilities (rate road/bridge conditions on a
scale of 1-10 as a general way to gauge their perceptions)? Are you aware of any
specific needs?
6. What is your perception of how roads and bridges are maintained and are you satisfied
with their condition? If not, are there any specific deficiencies?
7. What important benefits do the County's transportation facilities provide? (i.e., safety,
commerce, recreation, etc.)
Kittitas County Road Levy Research I Stakeholder Interview Draft Summary 7
March 2024
